Seasonal population shifts that quietly change exposure. The challenge is not identifying risk after it happens, but recognising it early enough to prevent escalation.

Abigail (Abby) Dogruoz is Regional Head at CAN Sigorta, overseeing Karakum, Ozanköy, Bellapais, Çatalköy, Alsancak, and Karaoğlanoğlu.
She has more than twenty years of international experience across highly regulated industries, including insurance, energy trading, and FMCG. Abby began her career in the London insurance market within the Lloyd’s insurance system, working at Sterling Hamilton Wright, a Lloyd’s broker later acquired by Towergate Insurance. There, she developed a rigorous foundation in risk assessment, underwriting discipline, and regulatory standards that continue to shape her professional judgment.
She later spent over fourteen years at BP within BP Trading & Shipping, holding senior roles and leading global marketing and communications strategies across gas, LNG, power, and low-carbon trading markets. Most recently, she served as Global Innovation Communications Lead at Unilever, connecting global industry expertise with start-ups and emerging technology ecosystems.
Abby holds an MBA in Marketing and Management Information Systems from the University of Missouri–Kansas City, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Kansas. With a personal connection to Cyprus spanning more than thirty years, she combines international professional experience with a deep understanding of local life in North Cyprus, supporting both expatriate and Turkish Cypriot clients with clarity, professionalism, and integrity.
